Trustindex verifies whether the original source of the review is Google. I recently joined the super-intensive class taught by Karin Steiner. So far, it’s been amazing—her teaching style, the variety of activities throughout the lessons, and the caring and fun environment she creates in class have all made this experience truly enjoyable. I’ve noticed that I’m already picking up quite a bit of the language, and I’m able to use it when I’m out and about after just two weeks of lessons! I would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn German!

On September 18, 2026, I took my “ Fide-Test ” exam at the “ ILS Bern .” I was greeted very warmly there, and I found the staff to be very friendly, patient, and pleasant. The atmosphere was calm, and I felt well taken care of.

Thank you so much for the friendly service! I really hope I passed the test, because I really need the results. 😊

I can definitely recommend the ILS Bern .

Trustindex verifies whether the original source of the review is Google. The A2–B1 test was pretty difficult for me, but interesting. Some of the questions took a lot of time and attention. I hope I did well on the test.

Trustindex verifies whether the original source of the review is Google. I took the German A1.2 and A2 courses at ILA, and I also took the A2 exam. I’m so excited—the courses were great, and the price was very reasonable. I’m definitely planning to go back and take the B1 course if I pass the A2 exam 😊 Thank you, ILA, for giving me the confidence to speak German with others. Finally,
Thank you all so much 🙏

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Browse the frequently asked questions and our answers to them

What Spanish courses are offered at ILS Bern?

You can choose between private Spanish lessons, evening classes once or twice a week, and a Golden Age course for students aged 50 and older. This means there are both flexible, individualized courses and fixed group formats.

Can I learn Spanish as a complete beginner?

Yes. If you have no prior knowledge of Spanish, you can start at the A1 level. If you already have some knowledge of the language, a placement test will help you start at the right level.

Which Spanish course is best for working professionals?

The evening classes are particularly well-suited for working professionals. You can choose between a once-a-week class and a more intensive format with two sessions per week. Private lessons offer even greater flexibility.

Should I study Spanish once or twice a week?

If you don't have much time, once a week might work well for you. Twice a week, you'll have more regular exposure to Spanish and can complete a sub-level more quickly.

Can I learn Spanish specifically for trips to Spain or Latin America?

Yes. The courses teach Spanish for typical everyday situations. In private lessons, you can focus specifically on preparing for situations at hotels, restaurants, on public transportation, while shopping, or during conversations while traveling.

Can I prepare for a DELE exam at ILS Bern ?

Yes. ILS Bern offers DELE exams and DELE preparation courses. Depending on your goals, you can focus on practicing the tasks and language skills specific to the exam level you’re aiming for.

Are there Spanish courses for learners aged 50 and older?

Yes. The Golden Age Spanish course is specifically designed for participants aged 50 and older. It is offered as private lessons with flexible scheduling or in a private study group that you can put together yourself.
