Sign language courses in Bern

Language does not always have to take place through acoustic sounds. Sign language offers an alternative system of communication that is mainly visualised through gestures and facial expressions. Through visual language systems, deaf and hearing-impaired people have the opportunity for social and cultural participation in the hearing world.

For hearing people, learning sign language is a special challenge: They have to learn to communicate not through sounds but through arms, hands, posture and facial expressions.

At ILS you will find sign language courses for hearing people. The language courses are based on the Swiss-German sign language (DSGS).

Choose private lessons as an individual course, a small group that you form yourself or a group course that takes place once a week. Our experienced teachers design the lessons according to your wishes. Book one of our lesson packages and schedule your lessons when it suits you best. The courses can take place at our premises in Bern, Basel and Zurich or at your location. More flexibility is not possible!
